IRP -  what's new?

During the first quarter of 2002, IRP has been preparing the first phase of the in-country implementation of the RAPS project. With the support of international and national professionals, IRP has set the ground in the village of Padre Cocha to start up operations.

A major milestone of the project is the shipping of the major components of the RAPS systems into Region Loreto, in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon Basin.

State-of-the-art batteries and electronic controlers have already arrived in Loreto for the building of the modules and components that have the sole purpose to provide quality energy supply 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

More important, the available energy will be provided in a clean way, to preserve the environment of the communities that IRP will serve.

On August 23 and 24, 2002, community members of Padre Cocha showed their efforts and total buy in for the RAPS Project. The support of adult s--men and women-- and children to IRP and the technical team was overwhelming. The entire community stood up and supported the set up process of the major components of the RAPS system. Learn more about this community empowerment reached in Padre Cocha.
