ILZRO RAPS PERU (IRP) is a non-profit organization, based in the city of Iquitos, Perú. IRP was founded in 1999 to lead the implementation of the RAPS systems project in rural communities of Loreto in the Amazon Basin of Perú.

IRP coordinates activities with international organizations as well as national and regional entities in Perú, including the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Regional Government of Loreto.

With offices in Lima and Iquitos, IRP is embarked with the mission to provide clean and renewable energies to rural communities outside the national grid system.

IRP focuses on four key components for the implementation of the RAPS project:

  • adecuate implementation of the RAPS systems to reassure its replication in Perú and other similar settings;
  • involvement of the central, regional, and local governments with the full support of communities;
  • involvement of NGOs and other agencies to implement a rural development plan; and,
  • private sector participation.
